Wolves

I found a picture of wolves fighting over food.. I've never attempted to paint dogs/ wolves so i thought a really crazy up close painting would be a good start. I had a really short dead line for this painting so it was a tad rushed but i think i work best under these kinds of conditions.. My attention only last so long on a painting.

Sketched out some guide lines

thinned out some Acrylic for my under paint. I used acrylic for my under paint because i wanted to have a good idea of my tones but didn't have enough tim to wait for oils to dry.

Built up enough to have an understanding of my tones and coloring.. time to move on to oils =D

First i started off with my darkest tones, mixed a nice dark blue with a dark brown for my black.

Moved on to my brown tones.

Now to my highlights with whites and yellow tones.. did a little blending on the fur.

After about a day of working here is what i've come to. This painting was done for my brother and his lady for Christmas (yeap... I did this on christmas eve..) The canvas is currently saturated with paint so going in and doing fine lines and really detailed work will have to wait till the canvas dries up a bit.
Hopefully someone checks this blog and enjoys what they see! Next painting i'll try to do better step by steps.. I'm still fairly new to the painting world.. So hopefully my small little tricks can help out a newbie like myself

P.S my glasses are bad ass... I don't care if you call me Harry potter =P
